FUSION TECHNOLOGYS

Implants produced for the treatment of fracture are fixed to the bone by screwing. In this case, the implant is only mechanically stabilized to the bone, promoting promoting fusion.

Clinical Study

In order to investigate the effectiveness of the new bone plate and screw system in vivo; plates and screws were implanted in the transversal fracture model of femoral bones of New Zealand Rabbits. Implanted plates; It is 4.0 cm long and 4 mm thick and has a total of 4 screw slots. The screws are made of titanium metal, 13.0 mm long and 2.5 mm thick; The bore in the screw shaft includes a filler of osteogenic and biocompatible materials which increases fusion.

Clinical Findings

In the light of the findings; It was concluded that the bone plate and screw system applied was histocompatible, the cancellous trabecular bone associated with the screw shaft channel filled with osteogenic and biocompatible material was formed, the bone interfacing with the plates was healthy and the system could be applied effectively in the transversal femur fracture model created in New Zealand Rabbits.
